Wheel thrown porcelain vase decorated with a praseodynium-based crystalline glaze, showing white crystals on a light yellow glassy sea. The inside has a glossy dark teal glaze and is watertight.
Crystalline glazes are a special type of glaze where silicate crystals develop within the glaze during the firing. Thus, no crystal pattern is the same, making each piece unique. Crystal shapes and growth are dependent on the length of the firing cycle, with some cycles lasting close to 24 hours.
