Description
Ikebana-style porcelain vase for flower arrangements. Vase is decorated with a lavender blue crystalline glaze. Underside features a black glaze. It comes with a small porcelain dish with a pin frog to secure flower stems and contain water. Opening is 2″ wide.
Crystalline glazes are a special type of glaze where silicate crystals develop within the glaze during the firing. Thus, no crystal pattern is the same, making each piece unique. Crystal shapes and growth are dependent on the length of the firing cycle, with some cycles lasting close to 24 hours.
